Birthstones

Swarovski Pearls
Each Swarovski Pearl begins with a crystal sphere that gives the pearl its ideal weight,
hence the name Crystal Pearl.
Then, each Swarovski Pearl bead is uniformly coated with iridescent, mother-of-pearl like layers.
The even coating combined with the crystal base of the pearl beads give them a luminosity and luster similar to that of real pearls.

Swarovski is the luxury brand name for the range of
precision-cut lead crystal glass and related products
produced by companies owned by Swarovski AG of Feldmeilen, near Zürich, Switzerland.
Fresh Water Pearls
Freshwater pearls form in various species of freshwater mussels,
family Unionidae, which live in lakes, rivers, ponds and other bodies of fresh water.
These freshwater pearl mussels occur not only in hotter climates,
but also in colder more temperate areas such as Scotland: see the freshwater pearl mussel.
However, most freshwater cultured pearls sold today come from China.
Mother-Of-Pearl
Nacre, also known as mother of pearl,
is an organic-inorganic composite material produced by some mollusks as an inner shell layer.
It is strong, resilient, and iridescent.
Nacre is found in some bivalves, some gastropods and some cephalopods.
The inner-shell layer in most mollusks however is merely porcellaneous and non-nacreous,
resulting in a non-iridescent shine like that of a porcelain plate.
Semi-Precious Stones
A gemstone or gem, also called a precious or semi-precious stone, is a piece of attractive mineral, which — when cut and polished — is used to make jewelry or other adornments. However certain rocks, (such as lapis-lazuli) and organic materials (such as amber or jet) are not minerals, but are still used for jewelry, and are therefore often considered to be gemstones as well. Most gemstones are hard, but some soft minerals are used in jewelry because of their lustre or other physical properties that have aesthetic value. Rarity is another characteristic that lends value to a gemstone.
Cubic Zirconia
Cubic zirconia, the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide, is a mineral that is widely synthesized for use as a diamond simulant. The synthesized material is hard, optically flawless and usually colorless, but may be made in a variety of different colors.
